No Yoga, No Peace…Know Yoga, Know Peace

Through my life I have come to understand the depths of transformation yoga can have on an individual’s life. Without yoga and meditation in our lives we live unconsciously and with little thought of the present moment, our mind, body, spirit connection or without the awareness of cause and affect of our every action, word or thought. Yoga can heal our emotional and physical body while settling the noise within our minds, both through practice on the mat as well as through meditation.

My purpose is to guide you; whether you are new to yoga, have health issues or have an ongoing practice and want to expand.


What is Yoga

A system or methodology for attaining self realization and liberation. It allows you to release the body and access the mind, to release the mind and access the heart and to release the heart and access the soul.

The physical practice is just one aspect of yoga and within the physical practice we connect the movement of the body and the fluctuations of the mind to the rhythm of our breath.

What does yoga mean

The word yoga, from the Sanskrit word yuj means to yoke or bind and is often interpreted as “union”.

What is a yogi

Those dedicated to the practice of Yoga, as well as a markedly reflective or mystical person.

So now…

With the uncertainty of all that has transpired in 2020, many of us have been so busy adapting to each day’s changes that we’ve been living with a triage mindset. I invite you to take a breath. Just for a moment…close your eyes. Still the waves. Breathe calmly and deeply. 

Feel a little better? This is the magic of yoga. To feel even a little hint of relief in an instant. No fancy gadgets. Just you and your breath. It’s all about learning how to work with yourself. Take time on your mat, as an invitation of sorts, for you to truly consider your inner state.

Together, during your practice, we will navigate the origins of emotion and instill daily practices that can help us to regain balance, strengthen resilience, and better manage feelings as they emerge in our lives, on and off of our mat.

During this time, we will mindfully practice samatvam, the yoga of balance and ahimsa, nonviolence, toward ourselves as we adapt to a new level of dedication to a new way of living a healthier and more fulfilling life.

We will have discussions providing everyday tools for diet and lifestyle, including the effects of the changing seasons to help us stay established in physical, mental, and emotional health. Incorporating the practices of yoga and meditation into our lives can help us bring calm to the rough seas of our emotions.

Interested in getting started?

I have a detailed questionnaire to be completed and our first session would be a conversation to fully understand your situation and goal. From there I will create a plan that is specifically designed to meet your needs and we will work towards your goal in your time. To begin, I would suggest meeting 1 to 1 1/2 hours, one time a week. You will need a mat, water bottle, a journal and to wear comfortable clothing you can move in.
